You owe $1,500 to ABC Creditor, who sells your debt to XYZ Collection Agency. XYZ Collection Agency then sends you a letter threatening legal action against you if you do not pay the debt.

Many debt collection letters are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Some of these violations are very technical. If you receive a collection letter from a debt collector or collection lawyer, our lawyers will examine the letter at no charge.
